Following projects have either been recently completed or are currently in progress.

• SASConverter This project involved converting SAS Programs and Datasets when migrating from VAX to UNIX systems. It involves development of a suite of scripts in Perl, Sed, and shell scripts to convert specific statements in the SAS programs, based on the specified input file. The utility also logs every action taken.

• ViewMaker This project required development of an intranet system using SAS, SAS/Connect, Perl and Expect to access remote legacy applications on a VAX cluster and create SAS Views. Next step is to develop an ExtractMaker that reads SAS Views on these remote VAX and creates SAS datasets on UNIX. Thus, this project allows us to create not only a unified interface to access legacy appplications but also a way to migrate data from legacy appplications to UNIX.

• SAS to Informix Data Loader In this project, a set of integrated SAS programs and UNIX c-shell utilities were developed that receive data from a site, convert the data to prescribed format, and then load them directtly into Informix database using SAS, SASA/Access and UNIX utilities such as SED and AWK.

• Data Warehouser As the name suggests, Data Warehouser dealt with creating a warehouse in a clinical setting that allowed our client to create an integrated clinical studies database, allowing faster access to data and faster on-time decisions in terms of pateint discontinuations, determinations about patient and study discontinuations and safety/efficacy information.
